THOMAS J. NICHOLS
Voices in the Fog
Voices in the Fog is a novel inspired
by many years of the author’s criminal justice experience
with administrative command as well as covert investigations
that hovered around the fringes of governmental organizations.
Those efforts uncovered the potential existence of shadow
governments, or as some have described them, governments
within government.
Thomas
Nichols is still active in law enforcement after serving
more than forty years in many intriguing capacities. He
began his career as a rookie jailer in the Tucson, Arizona,
Police Department. He retired as Deputy Chief and went on
to become Chief of Police of the Lubbock, Texas, Police
Department.
Upon retirement as
chief of the city police, he began a new phase of law enforcement
as chief of a school district police department in Lubbock.
Thomas Nichols is
a member of the International Association of Chiefs of Police,
the Police Executive Research Forum, the Texas Police Chiefs
Association, the Fraternal Order of Police, the Texas Municipal
Police Association, and the National Association of School
Safety and Law Enforcement Officers. He has lectured throughout
the United States on violence in American society; has overseen
multi-agency narcotic investigations; has provided executive
protection to heads of state; and, has commanded an intelligence
unit that investigated major organized crime figures in
the United States.
A graduate of the
University of Arizona, Thomas Nichols also has graduated
